Warm start Friday as rain, thundershowers move in

Highs in the upper 70s

DETROIT – Cloudy skies and mild this morning with low temps only in the 60s around most of Metro Detroit. Warmer spots are hovering around 70° to start with only a few locations dipping below 60 degrees.

We are tracking rain and thundershowers moving through Chicago headed our way. A cold front later today will bring rain and thunder starting in the early afternoon.

Highs should still hit the mid to upper 70s. Scattered thundershowers will linger into the evening and overnight. Conditions turn a bit breezy Friday and Saturday as well. Winds this afternoon SW 10-15 mph will be gusting a bit stronger at times.

Saturday may start with a few early morning showers pulling out of our area. But, we will be mostly dry, breezy, and nice tomorrow. Highs will be in the low 70s with a good dose of sun and clouds and winds W 7-17 mph.

Mother's Day looks dry to start. But, rain and thundershowers may try to squeeze into SE Michigan before lunchtime. Hopefully the rain holds off until later in the day with scattered afternoon showers with highs again trying to hit the 70s again.
