Local 4Casters: Warm, chance of storms Monday

DETROIT – Radar shows a couple of areas of drizzle around Metro Detroit early this morning but most of it is drying up before it hits the ground.

So, we should see a mostly dry morning with limited light rain chances and very mild temps in the mid 40s to 50 degrees early on.

A line of storms is forming to the west ahead of a cold front. And, those storms will rumble through here later this afternoon.

The time-frame looks like noon to around 5pm with rain and thunderstorm chances. Some of these storms may pack a little punch with lightning and gusty winds.

High temps will hit 70 degrees or very close to it with winds picking up SSW 10-20 mph gusting close to 30 mph later this afternoon ahead of and with the approaching front.

Tuesday will be sunny and nice with highs in the mid 60s and lighter winds. Wednesday looks great too with a sunny start and low to mid 60s before the clouds start rolling in.

Clouds increase on Thursday with a rain and thundershower chance by the afternoon and lasting into the evening.

We may see a few showers hanging on for early Friday, but an early look at the weekend ahead keeps Metro Detroit dry and cool in the upper 50s to near 60 degrees.
