Wet Wednesday in the works

Highs in the upper 70s

DETROIT –    The roads are wet and we'll have some light rain moving south to north this morning. But it will be coming to an end through the morning commute.

We expect to see high temps climbing back into the mid or maybe even upper 70s with the midday rain breaks. Warmer winds S 7-15 mph will help us warm a bit with partly to mostly cloudy skies. Scattered rain and thunder return by late afternoon or early evening along or ahead of a warm front.

A few scattered showers Thursday afternoon with an approaching cold front, but highs should hit 80° before the rain and front move through later in the day. Again, it's just a few scattered afternoon showers, so don't cancel your plans.

A clearing pattern will follow a few early morning showers Friday. Friday will be mostly sunny and cooler with highs in the low to mid 70s. And, nice weather is setting up for Father's Day Weekend.

Friday, Saturday, and Sunday all look mostly sunny and dry although one computer model holds onto a few showers early Friday before clearing.

Highs will climb back closer to 80° on Dad's Day. One computer model brings rain in late Sunday, but Monday and Tuesday look like better chances for wet weather.
