From February 18 until February 26, high temperatures stayed above 50 degrees.

On Saturday, February 18, the high of 69 degrees broke the 1976 record temp that day of 62 degrees.

On Thursday, February 23, the temperature reached 67 degrees, breaking another record set in 1984 at 64 degrees.

Last year's winter, 2015-2016, was actually higher on the list, coming in as 6th warmest.

The warmest winter on record for the Detroit-area came in 1881-1882, with an average temperature of 36.9 degrees.

Six of the top ten all-time warmest winters in Southeast Michigan have come in the last 35 years.

Fun fact from Paul Gross: As of today, March’s average temperature for the entire month is still below February’s average monthly temperature.  If March ends as a cooler overall month than February, it would be only the sixth time in recorded Detroit weather history that this has happened!
