More winter weather heading toward SE Michigan

Temps fall below zero with wind chills

DETROIT – The wind chills are subzero and dangerous out there with cold air in the single digits and teens and gusty arctic winds.

Bundle up in layers and be careful everyone. Metro Detroit is no stranger to this kind of cold, but this early in the season it can be a shock to the system.

We'll see some lake effect snow showers on Tuesday and some may drop an inch or two in isolated locations.

We believe most of us will get a dusting to maybe an inch, while others see upwards of two inches of fresh snow today.

Right now, the models are hinting at parts of Livingston and Washtenaw Counties getting the highest Tuesday snow totals.

High temps only warm up into the low 20s this afternoon with blowing snow and winds WSW 15-25 mph.

It looks like we're in for another accumulating snow Wednesday.

The timing looks good though as the flakes will likely start flying just after the morning commute and end before the evening commute.

That means we're in for several hours of light, fluffy snow that will stack up to 1-3" tomorrow as highs creep to near 30 degrees for your hump day.

Another blast of arctic air will follow Wednesday's clipper snow and it will stay cold the whole work/school week.

Thursday morning may be like this morning with subzero wind chills possible and some light snow.

Highs Thursday will hang in the 20s, but we should get into the 40s this weekend with rain. Get your complete 7 Day forecast on clickondetroit.com and on the Weather links:
