Jake Garcia joins Michigan football amid intense quarterback competition

The graduate transfer totaled 1,426 yards, 12 interceptions, and eight touchdowns last season

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The Michigan Wolverines are adding another veteran arm to the quarterback room as East Carolina quarterback Jake Garcia has committed to the program.

The announcement occurred on Monday (June 16) that the former Miami Hurricanes and Missouri Tigers quarterback had committed to the men in maize.

Garcia is a 6′3″, 210-pound graduate transfer who totaled 1,426 yards, 12 interceptions, and eight touchdowns during the 2024 season.

The veteran quarterback will enter a quarterback room backed by five-star Bryce Underwood, Jadyn Davis, and Mikey Keene, who is battling for a start under center.

With one year of eligibility remaining, look for a former top-50 recruit in the class of 2021.
