Michigan basketball star has medical scare before team travels to Final Four

Cadeau is expected to be OK for the Final Four match-up on Saturday, April 4

ANN ARBOR, Mich.Michigan Wolverines basketball star Elliot Cadeau suffered a medical scare before the team traveled to Indianapolis for the Final Four.

The incident occurred on Wednesday (April 1) outside the Player Development Center, when Cadeau alerted medical staff to an allergic reaction, which was later confirmed by a university spokesperson in a statement to Local 4.

“Before the team departed the Player Development Center today, Elliot alerted the medical staff that he may have had an allergic reaction to something that he ate. The doctors evaluated Elliot, and he is fine. Out of an abundance of caution, he is receiving medical supervision and will be traveling to Indianapolis later today.”

Cadeau was cleared by doctors and is expected to travel to Indianapolis on Wednesday evening.

The University of Michigan invited fans to celebrate the team before they hit the road to Indianapolis to take on the No. 1 seed Arizona Wildcats at Lucas Oil Stadium. on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at 8:49 p.m.

Cadeau is coming off a career milestone performance in the Elite Eight victory against the No. 6-seed Tennessee Volunteers inside the United Center on Sunday, March 29.

Coming into the matchup, Cadeau was just three points shy of 1,000 for his career and six assists shy of 600; he finished with 8 points and 10 assists.

Cadeau finished with eight points and 10 assists in the matchup.
