Olga's Kitchen to host fundraising event for Special Olympics Michigan

20 percent of bill at restaurants support athletes

DETROITSpecial Olympics Michigan has announced Olga's Kitchen as a new Polar Plunge event sponsor this year. Its restaurants will host a fundraising event statewide to raise money to support athletes.

With a promotional flyer on Sunday, 20 percent of your bill at any Olga's Kitchen or Olga's Market Fresh Grille locations will be donated to Special Olympics Michigan and the 2013 Polar Plunges.

"We believe it is so important to be a part of our local communities and our Raise More, Gain More Fundraising Program allows us to do just that," said CEO of Olga's Kitchen Matt Carpenter. "We are extremely proud and excited to be partnering with such a great organization like Special Olympics Michigan."

Olga's Kitchen said it is an event sponsor of several 2013 Law Enforcement Torch Run Polar Plunges. Any individual can support Special Olympics Michigan by taking the plunge. There are 28 events across the state that gives individuals the opportunity to support SOMI.

  • Fenton
  • Grand Rapids
  • Holland
  • Kalamazoo
  • Lansing
  • Legislative

On Sunday, from 10:30 a.m. until 9 p.m., visit any of the Olga's Kitchen or Olga's Market Fresh Grille locations to participate in the fundraiser.
