Westland woman fights to get astronomical ambulance bill from Superior Ambulance reduced

WESTLAND, Mich. – A Westland woman desperately needs help after receiving an astronomical bill from Superior Ambulance.

Help Me Hank first exposed the problem of people getting hit with big bills for short rides last year.

On Tuesday (Feb. 27), he’s also working to help the woman and you if you’re dealing with a billing issue.

“I was shocked when I saw the bill,” said Connie Rodriguez.

Superior also launched a new hotline for billing issues: 248-489-5115. You can also email mibillinghelp@superiorambulance.com.

Rodriguez couldn’t believe it was a bill for thousands for a 12-mile ride in a Superior Ambulance.

“I thought I got bills before from other providers for much less,” Rodriguez said. “This can’t be right.”

The bill was for a bariatric surcharge.

“They said they needed a larger gurney to move me,” Rodriguez said.

We’ve exposed the billing issues with Superior and have worked to get money back for many of you.
