DETROIT – It was exactly one year ago that the internet was baffled by the true color of a dress. Now, an Adidas jacket has taken center stage.
Mariam Kabba, 15, bought the jacket this week and in a matter of days it has become an internet sensation.
The sophomore from Santa Clarita, California showed a photo of her new purchase to friends in a group chat and to her surprise, their responses varied in color combinations.
“My friend Nina helped me out and posted it on Tumblr and from there it went crazy,” Kabba told Local 4.
The post received thousands of responses and the reposting began. Soon celebrities were tweeting the photo.
“It’s really exciting,” Kabba said. “Today at school, people were searching it up.”
An overexposed image of a dress became an internet sensation as people argued over whether the dress was blue and black or white and gold.
The jacket Kabba bought earlier this week is actually baby blue with white trim.
"I just really love Adidas," Kabba said.
