DETROIT – A former Inkster police officer who was convicted of beating a driver during a traffic stop has been sentenced to prison.
William Melendez was sentenced Tuesday to 13 months to 10 years on an assault with intent to do great bodily harm charge and 90 days on a misconduct in office charge. He will be given 85 days credit for time served.
