DETROIT – One person is dead and another is hurt after being shot on Detroit's west side, police said.
The shootings happened at around 8 p.m. Saturday near the corner of Robson Street and Fenkell Avenue.
Police were called to the scene on reports of a car accident, but realized a car hit a wall at the corner because the driver and passenger had been shot.
The shooting happened at Fenkell Avenue and Freeland Street, police say.
One person in the car was killed and the other was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. The ages of the victims are unknown.
Two different assault rifles were used, according to police. No witnesses have come forward, so police don't have a description of a suspect.
