101-year-old competes in Michigan Senior Olympics, completes 100-meter dash

More than 200 local athletes competed in the Michigan Senior Olympics, and one of the competitors was born more than 100 years ago.

The athletes competed in track and field events at Oakland University, Saturday.

The Michigan games serve as the official qualifier for the 2017 National Senior games which will take place in Birmingham, Alabama.

Fred Winter, an athlete standing strong at 101-years-old, said he's determined to compete. 

Fred went on to compete in the 50 meter dash, the 100 meter dash, and several other field events, including the high jump.
