14-year-old girl approached by man in vehicle in Allen Park

ALLEN PARK, Mich. – A 14-year-old girl was approached by a man in a vehicle Wednesday in Allen Park, police said.

The teenager was approached around 7:20 p.m. near Carter and Wick roads, according to police. The man asked her where she was going and if she wanted a ride, police said.

Nearby Allen Park residents said they saw the interaction, thought it looked odd and approached the vehicle. They said they asked the girl if she knew the man, and when she said no, they told him to leave. The man then drove away from the area.

Allen Park police have identified a person of interest. The investigation is ongoing.
