At 3:30 a.m. March 5, Detroit police said they responded to a complaint of a loud party and the possible sexual assault involving a 19-year-old at the Jason Manor apartments. At 5:55 a.m., the building manager called 911 to report the fire. Investigators later confirmed the fire was arson.

The apartments were fully engulfed in less than five minutes. Firefighters rescued about 25 people from the 41-unit building, while others jumped from windows to safety.

At least four people had to be taken to the hospital because of injuries they suffered from either jumping or because of burns.

No one has been charged in connection to the arson.
