DETROIT – Two Detroit Department of Transportation workers were charged Wednesday with taking more than $4,000 in cash bribes for falsifying multiple Department of State documents.
Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette said Calvin Foulks, 58, of Southfield, and Michelle Reed, 61, of Novi, issued forged documents that stated the applicants had taken and passed the commercial driver's licenses skills test.

"Individuals with a flagrant disregard for the law must realize there are consequences," Schuette said. "Forging documents and taking bribes is not only stealing from state funds, but endangers Michigan drivers."
Foulks, a current DDOT worker, is charged with eight counts of felony forgery.
Reed, a retired DDOT employee, is charged with five counts of felony forgery.
Each count of forgery is a felony with a penalty of up to 14 years in prison.
Foulks and Reed were arraigned Wednesday in the 36th District Court. They are being held on $25,000 bail.
They are scheduled to return to court Feb. 8 for a probable-cause conference.
