2 injured after shots fired at Roseville banquet hall

ROSEVILLE, Mich. – Two people were injured Sunday night after shots were fired at the Athena Hall Banquet Center at 25650 Gratiot Ave.

"Two and a half minutes later I saw (a) police ambulance and fire trucks," Antonio Evans said.

Police said a 24-year-old suffered a gunshot wound to the leg. That person was taken to a nearby hospital.

A 15-year-old who was shot in the foot was treated and released from a hospital.

Police say the 24-year-old was the intended target, not the 15-year-old.

Police said it appears a vehicle pulled in the parking lot of the hall and a person inside the vehicle began shooting. The vehicle fled north on Gratiot Avenue. The vehicle is described as a medium gray sedan -- possibly a Ford Taurus -- missing its passenger side red hubcap. It is believed two or three people were inside it.

One man was taken out of the building in handcuffs, although it wasn't clear what role, if any, he may have played in the shooting. Police say they have two potential suspects. Both have been questioned but released at this time.

Police have not said whether a security camera at a neighboring auto dealership recorded what happened. Investigators kept people at the hall for nearly two hours.

Anyone with any information on the shooting is asked to contact the Roseville Police Department at 586-447-4484.
