2 of 4 teen escapees in Detroit apprehended

DETROIT – Two of four teens who escaped from a the Don Bosco Depaul Youth Treatment Center at East Grand Boulevard last week have been apprehended, according to the Wayne County Department of Health, Veterans and Community Wellness.

Michael Robinson was taken into custody by Wayne County Sheriff's Deputies on Tuesday near Schaefer and 7 Mile roads. Kenyata Saxton was apprehended in the area of Van Dyke and 6 Mile roads on Wednesday.

"The Wayne County Department of Health, Veterans and Community Wellness has conducted an internal review which has concluded that our care management organizations did follow policy with respect to notifications to law enforcement, the court and the families of the escapees," a department spokesman said in a news release. "At this time the department is awaiting the completion of the findings of an investigation by the State Bureau of Children and Adult Licensing."

The teens, ages 16 and 17, escaped the center Aug. 27 when a security worker went to open the front door for visiting ministers to leave.

The teens fled on foot in different directions on East Grand Boulevard. Police said they had been convicted of "various crimes."

Duane Stiff-Brown and Devonte Kenney remain at large.
