2 Taylor men charged with murder of River Rouge man

Mike Stratford's body found dumped in Ypsilanti field

TAYLOR, Mich. – Two brothers from Taylor are charged in connection with the death of 38-year-old Mike Stratford, of River Rouge. 

Stratford's body was found Saturday in a field in Ypsilanti. Family members said he had been missing since May 7 after leaving the home he shares with his mother and 3-year-old daughter. Police later found his motorcycle a home on Brian Street in Taylor.

 Police believe Stratford was shot May 7 inside the Brian Street home and dumped in Ypsilanti.

Stratford was a single father of a 3-year-old girl. His mother said the last message her son received was from a friend who lives on Brian Street.

Brothers Adam Brown, 41, and Wesley Brown, 35, have been arrested and charged in this case. Wesley Brown is charged with open murder along with disinterment and mutilation of a dead body. Adam Brown is charged with disinterment and mutilation of a dead body, plus accessory after the fact.

They were both arraigned on Wednesday. 

Adam Brown was given a $1 million bond. Wesley Brown was denied bond. 

Their next court hearings are in June.
