2-year-old girl hit by brick thrown through car window now home

DETROIT – A 2-year-old girl who suffered a fractured skull Wednesday when she was hit by a brick thrown through a car window is now home.

Police said a man ran in front of the car at 10:10 p.m. at the I-75 Service Drive and Forest. He then ran back to the sidewalk, picked up a brick and threw it at the car, police said.

The brick went through the rear passenger window and hit Robyn Rivers in the head. She was taken to Children's Hospital in critical condition, police said.

After spending several days in the hospital recovering, Robyn was able to return home Sunday.

Her mother, Barbara Williams, said it’s been traumatic and has taken a toll on both her and her daughter.

“She's still got some opening up to do because she's not the same,” Williams said. “That's upsetting because that's different.”

She said she is stressed and is now watching everything her daughter does.

Williams is also uneasy because the man who threw the brick is still on the run.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Detroit police.

Donations can be made to Robyn's family here.
