20 bricks of cocaine seized at Ambassador Bridge

45-year-old truck driver charged

WINDSOR, Ontario – Canadian border officials seized 20 bricks of cocaine at the Ambassador Bridge earlier this month.

In a statement Thursday, the Canada Border Services Agency said the drugs, 24.3 kilograms, were discovered Sept. 16 during the secondary examination of a commercial truck that was on the Windsor, Ontario, side of the bridge.

The truck's 45-year-old driver, Ashvinder Singh Kundi, of Guelph, Ontariom was charged under the Controlled Drug and Substances Act with possession for the purposes of trafficking and importation of a controlled substance.

His next court date is Sept. 25.
