Suspects charged as adults, had intent to target people at Linden High, Linden Middle schools, police say

ARGENTINE TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Three teenage boys are charged with conspiring to shoot people at two Michigan schools.

Argentine Township Police Chief Dan Allen said police intercepted information Oct. 28 about the alleged plot in the Linden district, 20 miles south of Flint.

Allen said Saturday that the group had "specific targets in mind" at Linden High School and Linden Middle School. He said the investigation revealed the threat was "serious and credible," and that he forwarded the information to the FBI.

The three teens were arrested on Oct. 29 and never reached school property. They're charged as adults with conspiracy to commit first-degree premeditated murder and false report or threat of terrorism.

They were identified by as Ryan Stevens, 18, Lamar Dukes, 15, and Cody Brewer, 15.

Allen said Stevens is a former Linden student.

Dukes and Brewer went to Walled Lakes Schools.

Statement from Walled Lake School:

Dear Walled Lake Schools Parents:
I am writing to inform you that two Walled Lake Schools students, one from Walled Lake Central and one Walled Lake Central student who attended school at the Oakland Opportunity Academy at the Oakland Southwest Campus, are in police custody with felony charges of conspiracy to commit murder and a threat of terrorism. They are allegedly involved in planning a shooting at a school in Linden, Michigan, NOT at any of the Walled Lake Schools.
At no time were any of our schools or students in danger. Immediately upon learning about the Walled Lake students' alleged involvement, there was involvement from law enforcement officials, and district and school administration. We immediately collaborated and cooperated with police and the FBI on the investigation.
Again, although two Walled Lake students were involved in this, it did not involve Walled Lake Schools.
Safety is a priority at Walled Lake Schools and we are fortunate to have solid relationships with law enforcement officials in many jurisdictions and we are committed to collaborating with them on their investigations.
Thank you for your continued support of Walled Lake Schools.
Sincerely,
Judy L. Evola, APR
