HIGHLAND PARK, Mich. – Three children are safe after briefly being held hostage inside a Highland Park home Monday afternoon, police said.
The children were in the home on Grove Street with their father when a suspect who was running from police jumped through a window into the home.
Police said the children's father fled the house and the children were left inside with the suspect.
For about 15 minutes, the suspect refused to come out, police said.
Eventually he surrendered.
The children were not hurt.
