Mom, 2 children found dead in Eastpointe home; husband in custody

Police say Christie Fradeneck, young son, daughter found dead in home on Cushing Avenue

EASTPOINTE, Mich. – Police have released the names of a mother and her two children who were found dead in their Eastpointe home on Monday.

Police said the bodies of 37-year-old Christie Fradeneck, her 8-year-old son Timothy and 2-year-old daughter Celeste were found by police who went to check on the family after a concerned family member reported not being able to get in touch with them.

Police said Fradeneck's 37-year-old husband was taken into custody. He was home when police arrived.

His name is being withheld pending any charges. Police say he is their only suspect. Charges are expected to come Wednesday.

Autopsies on the victims will be done Tuesday.

"It's always difficult for everyone involved to try to understand the senselessness of violence like this, so it's very difficult to process for all of us," said John McNeilance, Eastpointe director of public safety.

Fradeneck's family released this statement on Tuesday:

"At this time, the family of Christie is requesting their privacy and the privacy of Christie and her children. This is a very close and loving family and their utter shock and grief cannot even be put into words. They truly appreciate the outpouring of love and support that is being given to them. Yesterday, when Christie's sister became concerned about her whereabouts as nobody had heard from her all day, she called the police to check on her sister's welfare. There was no history of domestic violence in the home. The investigation is in its initial stages and the family is fully cooperating and allowing law enforcement to conduct their investigation. The family is hopeful that the justice system will prevail and the person responsible for this will be punished to the fullest extent of the law.

A Go Fund Me page has been set up by friends of the family to pay for the funeral and burial expenses of Christie and her children. It can be found at http://gofundme.com/Christiefradeneck."
