Charges dismissed against 3 in Detroit rape case

DETROIT – All charges against three men who were accused in the robbery and rape of a couple on Detroit's west side have been dropped.

Chico Bruce, 22, Antoine Orr, 18, and Jordan Alexander Reese, 17, were facing charges of criminal sexual conduct, kidnapping and armed robbery in connection with the gang-style crime that happened July 16 in the 10300 block of West McNichols Road. But prosecutors on Tuesday said the accusers would not be pursuing charges and asked Judge Kenneth King to dismiss the cases.

Sources say the male accuser couldn't be located and the female accuser refused to testify.

The accusers, a 21-year-old woman and a 22-year-old man, had reported being confronted by a group of six men, forced to undress and robbed at gunpoint in an alley. The woman also was allegedly raped.

The Wayne County Prosecutor's Office is conducting further investigation so that the case can be re-issued.
