ROMULUS, Mich. -

On Saturday May 10th a Detroit woman was arrested after being caught with a loaded .357mm caliber firearm at the Detroit Metropolitan airport security checkpoint.

 TSA officers found the gun in her purse after it passed through the X-ray machine.  She was arrested on weapons charges.

This was the third arrest in a week for firearms at DTW.

An airport employee was arrested on Sunday May 4th for possessing a gun as she was headed to work.  

There was also another arrest on Thursday May 8th, after police found a man with a firearm.  

Passengers are allowed to travel with unloaded firearms if it is properly packed, in a checked bag, and declared to officials.
