4 officers hurt in confrontation with suspect in Harper Woods

Suspect was being tracked in assault case when he tried to flee; Officers weren't seriously hurt

HARPER WOODS, Mich. – Four police officers were hurt Friday during a confrontation with a suspect in Harper Woods who rammed their patrol cars while trying to get away.

Police said officers from Harper Woods, Detroit and the US Marshals Service were tracking a suspect who was wanted in connection with a sexual assault when he started to flee.

The suspect was stopped and arrested.

The US Marshals officer was taken to a hospital to be checked out.

One Harper Woods officer and two Detroit officers suffered minor injuries.

Police didn't immediately release any more details on the suspect, except that he's also on parole for crimes in another city.
