Birmingham police investigating fight, shooting between 2 women outside South Bar

BIRMINGHAM, Mich. – Birmingham police said punches were thrown and shots fired earlier Monday morning between two women who had just left a bar.

Police said a group of people had just left South Bar and were walking northbound on Old Woodward Avenue when words were exchanged between a 21-year-old woman and another woman.

The two tussled in a punching match before one of the women got a gun from a car that was across the street and fired 2 shots before fleeing.

Police said they found a 0.22 shell casing in the street.

There were no serious injuries.

Police released a picture of the accused shooter on Wednesday, as given to them by the victim, and she turned herself in shortly after the picture was put out by the media.

Police said a report would be conducted and submitted to the Oakland County Prosecutor, who would decide if any charges would be filed.
