GROSSE POINTE PARK, Mich. – The husband of murdered Grosse Pointe Park mother Jane Bashara thanked supporters and called the situation horrific as he spoke Wednesday outside his home.

Bashara stood with his mother and son as he spoke to the media.

"This is an unconceivable tragedy," he said.

Wiping away tears, he said the family had cooperated with law enforcement agencies and would continue to.

"In the light of this horrific event, we ask for your continued prayers, ask for your support and respect of our privacy as we deal with this heartbreak and try to cope," Bob Bashara said.

Police have said Bob Bashara is a person of interest and sources said he failed a polygraph test. But he has not been charged.

"My sister and I really support my dad through all of this," said Bob Bashara's son, Robert. "We just miss our mom so much and we're just trying to get through this."

A man named "Joe" has told police he strangled Jane in the garage of her home but did so while being held at gunpoint by another person. "Joe" has also not yet been charged.

When asked about "Joe," Bob Bashara said, "I have nothing to say."
