Drivers spot naked man running through Grosse Pointe Woods; police say man was high on meth

Man bares all in run near Mack Avenue, Lochmoor Boulevard in Grosse Pointe Woods with police in pursuit

GROSSE POINTE WOODS, Mich. – Drivers in Grosse Pointe Woods were not expecting rush hour traffic to include a naked man running down Mack Avenue.

Of course, who would?

Yet, that's exactly what Sal Rizzo and his friend, Ethan Rutkofske, captured on camera when they were driving on Mack Avenue near Lochmoor Boulevard.

"We were driving down Mack and ... we see this naked guy running right in front of us and I was like, 'No way,'" said Rizzo.

To be fair, the man wasn't completely naked.

"He had socks on, I think," said Rizzo.

Rutkofske whipped out his phone and captured the video of the naked man with Grosse Pointe Woods police in hot pursuit.

"He was running right next to us and then in front of us," said Rutkofske. "I had to stop right in front of the cops so they could get him."

According to police, the 29-year-old Livonia man was high on meth. Officers eventually had to use a Taser on him to get him to stop. They covered him up while he sat on the curb.

If ever there was a strong deterrent for kids to stay off drugs, this is it.

"I just hope I stay clean," said Rutkofske.

Officers called for an ambulance which took the man to a nearby hospital. Police said they don't expect any charges to be filed.
