Suspect in WSU football player's slaying arrested in Nevada

Anton Blevins accused of fatally shooting Courtney 'Cortez' Smith

DETROIT – A man accused of gunning down a Wayne State University football player earlier this summer outside a Detroit nightclub has been arrested in Nevada.

Anton Blevins, 21, was arrested Tuesday by the U.S. Marshals Office. He is accused of fatally shooting 20-year-old Courtney "Cortez" Smith on May 5 outside Club Envy.

Smith was a junior at WSU and played the position of cornerback for the school.

Blevins is being held in the Clark County detention center pending extradition to Michigan.

He was also recently profiled on "America's Most Wanted."

A second man, 17-year-old Quentin King, was also arrested and stands charged in the shooting.
