WEST BLOOMFIELD, Mich. – The Secretary of State office in West Bloomfield will be closed for several days this month as it moves to a new location within the same shopping center that features a larger floor plan for customers and staff, Secretary of State Ruth Johnson said.
The office at 4301 Orchard Lake Road closed on Friday, July 20. The staff will complete the moving process on Friday, July 27. The office will reopen at 9 a.m. on Monday, July 30, at 4297 Orchard Lake Road, Suite 220.

In addition to a larger lobby, customers of the new office will also benefit from public restrooms, better counter configuration and 24-hour access to a Self-Service Station, which provides a convenient self-service option for customers renewing their license plate tabs.
Office hours remain unchanged: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday; and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
"We encourage customers to use our online services whenever possible instead of traveling to our branch offices," Johnson said. "But for those who do need to come in, the new West Bloomfield location has improved features that allow us to better serve them."
People who need license plates, driver's licenses and ID cards can do business online at www.ExpressSOS.com or by mail. Easy to follow instructions can be found with the renewal notice. Additional services can be done online as well.

The PLUS offices are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday; and from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday. The SUPER!Centers have the same hours as PLUS offices and also 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday.
