Marine thought to be headed to Michigan now in custody

Clenard Gee-Simmons taken into custody Wednesday in North Carolina

PONTIAC, Mich. – A Marine who was suspected to be traveling to Michigan with an AK-47 to harm his family is in custody, according to the U.S. Marines.

On Monday, the Oakland County Sheriff's Office received information from the United States Marine Corps that Clenard Gee-Simmons had left Camp Lejeune and was believed to be in possession of an AK-47. Gee-Simmons had made threats to kill his wife, who has recently filed for divorce, and was thought to be on his way to an address in Pontiac.

The Marines said Gee-Simmons was found Wednesday in Atlantic Beach, North Carolina -- about one hour from Camp Lejeune.
