Just before 5 p.m. Wednesday, police say two black men walked into a RadioShack and acted like they were looking at products.
However, after most of the customers left, one of the men took out a gun and pointed it at the employee's head. He took cash from the register and demanded cellphones which were in a storage locker in the back room.
After that, one of the men locked up a teen customer and the employee in the back. Police say the 14-year-old customer was handcuffed to a chair in the back office. The employee was locked in a bathroom with the door wedged shut.
Both robbers walked out of the store and quickly through the parking lot.
Darrius Mial left the store just 1/2 hour before the robbery. He lives close to the Roseville plaza and said it's a safe place to live.
"To have an incident take place where all these people are, especially in this area, it's very surprising," he said.
For employees at neighboring businesses, such as the hair salon two storefronts away, the thought of an armed robbery so close to them is frightening.
"I mean, there was only two people working here at the time. I would have been kind of almost traumatized if that would have happened to me," said Elizabeth Goodrich, who works at the BoRics nearby.
No one was injured in this robbery. Roseville police are looking for the two men shown on surveillance video.
