WATERFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. - A bicyclist was killed Wednesday afternoon when he was struck by a vehicle at Telegraph and Elizabeth Lake roads in Waterford Township.
Southbound Telegraph Road was shut down while police investigated.
Waterford police say the victim is a 62-year-old man from Pontiac. He was crossing the Telegraph Road crosswalk when a 65-year-old Monroe driver struck him.
The bike was lying in pieces in the road. The sport utility vehicle nearby had a smashed windshield.
The crash still is under police investigation.
Police do not believe alcohol and drugs are a factor.
