Birmingham considers taller buildings for Woodward

Next meeting slated for Wednesday

Birmingham, MI – On Wednesday, the Birmingham Planning Board will take up a new zoning ordinance. If approved, the ordinance would permit buildings that are up to nine stories tall. This is four stories higher than the current zoning allows.

The reasoning behind the proposal is that wider roads need taller buildings.

If approved, buildings on the west side of Woodward, between the 555 Building and Maple Road, would be impacted.
