PITTSFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Pittsfield Township police are investigating the discovery of a woman's body Thursday outside an apartment complex.
The body of a 23-year-old Ypsilanti Township woman was found lying in the parking lot at Evergreen Apartments, which are off Packard Road near Carpenter Road.
Police said they are calling the death "suspicious." However, results from an autopsy show no signs of trauma. Police are awaiting a toxicology analysis as their investigation continues.
Detectives say the victim had a history of substance abuse and run-ins with police.
"I've been living here for three years and nothing like that has ever happened," said George Turner. "This is a very nice community."
