Bond amended for man charged with hitting Michigan State Trooper

CLARKSTON, Mich. – A judge on Friday amended the bond of the man who is charged in the death of Michigan State Trooper Chad Wolf.

Charles Warren, 69, of Waterford, was in court for a probable cause hearing.

The judge expressed concerns about Warren not following conditions of this bond, which include emailing his daily plans for travel, keeping receipts from the places he stops and drug testing.

District Court Judge Kelley Kostin amended Warren's personal bond, which doesn't require bail, to a $100,000/ 10 percent cash or surety bond. Warren was taken into custody until he could post the $10,000 bail.

Warren is accused of hitting Wolf on on Interstate 75 on Aug. 28 while Wolf was on patrol with his department-issued motorcycle.

Wolf, 38, died hours after. He had been a trooper since 2008.
