5-year-old boy shot on Detroit's east side hospitalized, police say

Police: Bullet went through window of boy's home

DETROIT – A 5-year-old boy was taken to the hospital Tuesday evening after being shot on Detroit's east side, police said.

The shooting happened at a home in the 20200 block of Irvington Street.

Police believe the bullet went through the window of the boy's home. Police said he was shot in the head.

The boy was taken to Children's Hospital of Michigan in Detroit. He was listed in critical condition.
