CANTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Canton police said two people smashed a van into the Emagine theater early Monday morning in an attempt to steal an ATM.
Police said the would-be thieves drove a Ford van into the front doors of the theater off Ford Road just after 6 a.m.

The two got out of the van and tried to take the ATM from the lobby, but were unsuccessful, got back into the van and drove off.
Police said they were working on releasing surveillance video from the incident. No other descriptions were released.
