Police: Center Line man threatens to kill Warren police officers

Police found 15-16 firearms in his home

WARREN, Mich. – A Center Line man is in custody after he was heard making threats toward Warren police officers, officials said. 

After the threat was reported, police responded to the mans home and found 15-16 firearms inside. The man was taken into custody and was taken to a mental health facility.

Authorities said the man was in a mental health discussion group when he allegedly told a third party about his intentions.

The third party then  reported the threats to Center Line police.

Warren Mayor Jim Fouts said the man has serious mental health issues. It it unknown how he obtained the firearms. 

He has not been identified pending arraignment.

Police across the country are on high alert after gunmen opened fire on officers in Dallas and Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
