Charges issued in 2012 slayings of 2 Westland teens

DETROIT – Almost two years after two Westland teens were found shot to death in a field, charges have been issued.

The Wayne County Prosecutor's Office on Wednesday said Fredrick K. Young, 25, of Detroit, and Ferlando D. Hunter, 23, of Jackson, Mich., have each been charged with first-degree murder, felony murder, torture, armed robbery, unlawful imprisonment and felony firearm.

The bodies of the 18-year-old Jacob Kudla and 17-year-old Jourdan Bobbish were found July 27, 2012 in a Detroit field near Lyford and French roads. Both had been shot.

Two other people had been charged with stripping Kudla's car.

Kudla's uncle, Richard Baxter, was the last relative to see the teens alive. He admitted to giving them marijuana and pills but said he doesn't know what happened after they left his house.
