Child rescued from apartment fire in Highland Park in stable condition

2-year-old boy rescued, 1 person taken to hospital

HIGHLAND PARK, Mich. – The child that was rescued from an apartment fire in Highland Park Saturday morning is in stable condition.

A 2-year-old boy was saved after a fire broke out at around 8 a.m. at an apartment complex near Rosa Parks Boulevard and McNichols Road, just outside of the Detroit Golf Club.

The fire began in a hallway or front room of the apartment, according to the Highland Park Fire Department. Authorities say at least one person was taken to the hospital after the complex caught fire.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
