Comcast says 'temporary network interruption' is repaired in metro Detroit

Cable, Internet cusomters report outages

DETROIT – Comcast cable and Internet customers in metro Detroit have been reporting service outages all day Monday. 

A Comcast spokeswoman said the company was investigating "what appears to be a temporary network interruption."

“We’re continuing to investigate what appears to be a temporary network interruption that impacted some of our services this morning," said Michelle Gilbert, vice president of public relations, in a statement. "Our engineers have been working on this and services are starting to be restored. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused our customers.” 

Gilbert followed up Monday afternoon, saying the network interruption had been repaired. 

“We have repaired the temporary network interruption that impacted some of our services this morning.  Our engineers continue to work on this issue and almost all services have already been restored.  We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused our customers," Gilbert said in a statement. 

According to Twitter users, this appears to be a nationwide issue. A map from DownDetector.com shows the breadth of this Comcast outage.
