CPL holder in custody after shooting causes serious injury in Harper Woods

HARPER WOODS, Mich. – A CPL holder is in custody after a 40-year-old man was shot Sunday night at a gas station in Harper Woods, according to authorities.

The shooting was reported at about 11:15 p.m. at the BP gas station at the corner of Vernier and Harper avenues.

A 40-year-old Harper Woods resident was shot three times and was taken to the hospital. He was listed in serious condition, but is expected to survive.

The 25-year-old shooting suspect, a Detroit resident, was taken into custody at the scene. He is a concealed pistol license holder.

Harper Woods Department of Public Safety said the shooting appears to be the result of an altercation between the victim and the shooter.

The suspect is being held without bond.
