Detroit man charged in deadly September shooting at gas station

Police say Jaymel Ward robbed, shot D'ante Hill at Valero gas station on East McNichols

DETROIT - An 18-year-old Detroit man has been charged for a deadly robbery and shooting at a gas station last month.

Jaymel Parta Ward was at a Valero gas station on East McNichols just before 5 a.m.  on Sept. 9 when police say he robbed and shot 22-year-old Southfield resident D'ante Darnell Hill in the back and face.

Ward is charged with first-degree murder, felony murder, armed robbery, assault with intent to murder and felony firearm.

Ward is slated to be arraigned Friday.
