Detroit man charged in Easter shooting that killed 3-year-old girl

Diallo Davis is fourth person charges in A'naiya Montgomery's death

DETROIT – A fourth man has been charged in connection with the shooting death of a 3-year-old girl who was shot Easter morning inside a home on Detroit's east side. 

Wayne County Circuit Court Judge Timothy Kenny on Wednesday unsealed an indictment for 23-year-old Diallo Davis and arraigned him on charges of first-degree murder, felony murder, assault with intent to murder, home invasion, and several others.  Davis was denied bond. 

What happened 

On March 27, A'naiya Montgomery was sleeping with her mother in a home on Riverview Street when gunfire erupted. Montgomery died from multiple gunshot wounds. Two other people in the home, a 39-year-old man and a 26-year-old man, were also shot, but survived their injuries.

Others charged in the shooting

In April, a one-man grand jury indicted Paul G. Kendall, 24, Reginald L. Street, 19, and Jonathan L. Burks, 30, in the deadly shooting.

‎On April 20, Kendall was found dead from an apparent suicide in his cell at the Wayne County Jail.
