Detroit police describe 'war zone' after triple shooting on west side

DETROIT – Detectives from the Detroit Police Department are investigating a triple shooting on the city's west side this morning.

Police tell Local 4, the shooting happened around 3:15 a.m. on Vinewood near W. Warren. At least one officer called the scene a "war zone" after police found 44 bullet shell casings littered on the street.

Three people were inside of a car when a second car came up and two people got out and started shooting.

A 23-year-old woman is in critical condition, 25-year-old woman is in temp. serious and a 27-year-old man is in temp. serious condition.

At this time police have not released a description of the second car or the suspected shooters.

Local 4 has a reporter at the scene attempting to gather more information.
