Detroit police release sketch of man wanted in fatal carjacking

Detroit police have released the sketch of a man who is wanted in the carjacking and fatally shooting a 20-year-old man at a gas station on the city's west side.

Eugene Landyon was killed the night of Jan. 17 during a scuffle with the armed carjacker at the Sunoco station at the intersection of Wyoming and Plymouth roads.

The carjacker got away with Landyon's 1978 blue/gray Chevy El Camino, but police later found it.

Police said a witness described the carjacker as black, 19 or 20 years old, 5 feet 7 inches, 150 pounds with thick eyebrows, dark brown "smokers" lips, a mustache and goatee.

Anyone with information on the crime, or if you recognize the man in the sketch, is asked to call Detroit police's homicide unit at 313-596-2260 or Crime Stoppers at 800-SPEAK–UP. Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $2,500 for information that leads to an arrest.
