Blankets, heating packets used to warm doe

WHITE LAKE TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A doe rescued after becoming stranded on ice on Pontiac Lake has been released back into the wild, according to the White Lake Fire Department.

Rescue crews learned Friday afternoon about the doe after a citizen noticed it on the lake. Officials said the lake was partially frozen.

Blankets and heating packets were used to warm the doe, which weighed about 120 pounds.

After a half-hour, the doe was strong enough to be released back into the wild.
